Handmade Monday #282
Welcome to Handmade Monday, our weekly link up for all things handmade. Crafts, decor ideas and recipes are all welcome here, if it’s handmade we are happy for you to share it.
Another cake photo from me this week! It was our middle son’s birthday this week, he’s now 26, I can hardly believe it! This is the son that I knitted this Doctor Who scarf tie for back when he was still at school!
The cake is a basic Victoria Sandwich Cake recipe, with a swirl of Nestle’s Caramel Sauce swirled through the cake mix before baking (any Dulce Leche sauce would work I think) Then iced with a chocolate buttercream and more of the caramel sauce drizzled on. I cut the sugar down in the cake mix just a little to allow for the added caramel sauce but the whole thing was still pretty sweet! It didn’t rise very much as you can see, I think I used tins that were just a little too big, smaller tins would have given a taller cake which is definitely more fashionable at the moment in the world of cakes. Lucky for me our son is not bothered if his cake is on trend or not as long as it tastes good :-D
Now let’s take a peek at the features from last week’s Handmade Monday. Click through on the photos to see the original posts.
Please remember if you want to pin any of these ideas please make sure you click through via the photo to the original project.
Maria Jose from El Inventario De MJ has made some lovely bead and wire work hearts. So so pretty.
Helden der Vorzeit (Heroes of Yore) made these lovely scrunchies from scraps of jersey fabric. I know I loved making these for myself back in the 80’s and I love that they are back in fashion. I just won’t be wearing one myself I don’t think. If you can remember a fashion the first time I’m not sure if you are supposed to do it the next time round!!!
Frau Tschi-Tschi has a pattern for this super super cute Lama; adorable.
Beautiful crochet flowers from The Little Treasures, Maya has shared a free pattern to make these lovely retro flowers.
Congratulations to you all There is a "YAY I was featured" button over here if you want to add one to your blog.
A like on social media, a comment or share is an easy way for us all to help to support one another so please do take a moment to visit some of the other projects linked up this week. It’s not mandatory to be able to join in here, there’s no easy way to check if you did but it costs nothing but a few minutes of your time.
The rules for Handmade Monday are very simple:
