Geometric Coasters you can make yourself
Coasters make such a great gift. Everyone uses them don’t they? They look great, they are practical, and you really can’t have too many of them. Coasters are a fantastic housewarming or hostess gift. They are also lovely for Christmas, maybe as part of a hamper, or with some beautiful mugs that are stuffed with sachets of hot chocolate.
You don’t even have to make geometric coasters as gifts, you can make them and keep them for yourself - that’s allowed too!
It’s not difficult to make coasters yourself, especially if you keep it simple. Geometric designs are always in style and with the simplicity of the design it’s easy to get a beautiful finish.
I’ve put together a lovely collection of geometric coasters that you can make yourself, with a whole selection of different craft techniques.
These painted cork coasters from Sugar and Cloth are so stylish and look really quick and easy to make too!
I can imagine Daisy Buchanan putting her drink on one of these beautiful gold and black coasters from Swoon Worthy!
These coasters are made from scraps of leather rescued from an old sofa with coloured felt peeking through the geometric designs cut in them.
These woven felt coasters from The Craft Gentleman could be made in any colour combo and are super durable.
Token and Bliss has another take on a painted cork coaster, such lovely geometric designs and easy to create too.
Vicky Myers Creations made these lovely coasters from an old felted jumper and scraps of colourful fabric.
Another really simple fabric coaster idea is this one from Apple Green Cottage. These coasters are made using the same basic method that I made my pocket pack tissue pouches a few years ago, honestly it’s so simple it’s unbelievable.
These wooden coasters have a ‘quilt block’ look which is achieved with a pyrography or wood burning tool. Straight lines and simple patterns make it a great project for beginners to wood burning.
These felt and cork coasters from Homedit would be an amazing way to use up small scraps of felt. I love the star shape too.
I love bright colours but sometimes you just can’t beat a bit of monochrome, Like these lovely clay coasters from Pretty Nice. Simple and beautiful.

These gorgeous sashiko style coasters come as a kit with everything you need to make all 5 coasters. They are from Mikke Japan’s Etsy shop.
This beautiful idea, originally from A Coastal Bride uses marble tiles and gold vinyl to make these classy coasters. Sadly this is just for inspiration now as this site no longer exists.
